Fire partially destroys a building at Captain Morgan’s

A fire late on Wednesday afternoon partially damaged a structure at Captain Morgan’s Retreat on northern Ambergris Caye. Most of the content inside the lower flat of the building was damaged and luckily the building was insured with RF&G Insurance Company. Read more in this week's issue of The San Pedro Sun.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

The San Pedro Town Council invites everyone to the Town's official Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. It will take place tonight at 6pm. Christmas is here!

Illegal Parking Notice

Press Release – San Pedro Town Council – December 2nd, 2009 – The San Pedro Traffic Department advises the general public that it is illegal to leave parked vehicles on the streets after working hours. It does not only obstruct the proper maintenance of the streets, but it is a major condition for obtaining a vehicle permit to have parking within your property. A survey will be carried out soon and warnings will be placed on vehicles parked illegally. Follow up inspections will result in tickets being issued and repetitive offenders will lead to cancellation of vehicle permits. All streets are being considered.

World Aids Day!

In observation of World AIDS Day, the San Pedro AIDS Commission held a walk on Sunday. During the day, free HIV testing was also conducted at Central Park while information on the epidemic was disseminated. World AIDS Day is being celebrated under the theme, "human rights and access to treatment”.

Smile Clinic Too returns to La Isla Bonita

The Smile Clinic is back in San Pedro. Working from the Holy Cross school, the dentists and volunteers plan on tending to approximately 100 kids. Their last day on the island is Thursday and parents are advised that the clinic is free of cost and all may pay a visit.
