Miss Chiquitita 2010 - coming soon!

After a ten year hiatus, the Miss Chiquitita Pageant is back to San Pedro Town. The general public is cordially invited to witness the selection of the new mini-queen who will reign for the year 2010-11. The six beauties vying for the title and the crown are:
Victoria Moguel, 7-year-old
Nayobie Rivero, 6-year-old
Marcella Bonilla, 4-years-old
Leilanie Alamilla, 6-years-old
Gabriella Alexander, 6-years-old
Adrianne Henkis, 6-years-old
The event will be held at the Old Football Field commencing at 7:00 p.m. on March 20th, 2010. During the night, entertainment will be provided by the San Pedro Dance Company and Barbara's Dance Group. Tickets are available at SP Preschool and Island Magic ($10 - adults, $5 - children).

Congratulations SPHS - Math Olympiad Champs!

San Pedro High School students are the 2010 Math Olympiad champions, having surpassed Belize Christian Academy (which placed 2nd) and Muffles College (which placed 3rd) with a total of 5,000 points.


The students and their coaches arrived on the island at 4:15 p.m. They traveled via the San Pedro Belize Express. Congratulations San Pedro High School Students!!!

Final day to sign the petition

The San Pedro Tour Guide Association (along with other related organizations) have a petition going on presently. The petition is states the opposal to the newly stated SI 115 0f 2009 which was passed September 26th, 2009. The SI states that anyone interested in carrying out any sort of fishing has to purchase one of two fishing licenses: Commercial or Sport Fishing. The petition is available at the offices of the San Pedro Tour Guide Association located on Barrier Reef Drive and anyone wishing to sign has until 3:00 p.m. today to make their view known. Holiday hosts 80's Night

The San Pedro Holiday Hotel did it again! Known for their spectacular Halloween and New Year's Eve bashes, Holiday introduced their 80's Night. Patrons arrived dressed in their best 80's attire, rocking the clothes, the shoes and the hairstyles.Even Miss Tina Turner made an appearance.At the end of the night, prizes were handed out as follows:Winning $400 worth of dental service (courtesy of Dr. Adrian Heusner) was Felix Ayuso.

Pre-schools celebrate Flag Day

As part of Child Stimulation Month, the four preschools on Ambergris Caye celebrated the red, white and blue flag of Belize. Singing songs, marching down the street or engaging in fun art and crafts projects, the students celebrated under the theme "Investing in Early Childhood = A Better Belize." Throughout the month, the students will engage in many other activities aimed at stimulating their young minds.
