Lime holds Indian Night

On Friday, Lime Bar and Grill treated their patrons with a delicious, spicy and scrumptious Indian cuisine.
Two fantastic chefs assisted in the preparation of the buffet style dinner. They turned the "barbie" into a Tandoor oven. Innovative!

Lime was beautifully set up and dinner was ready to start.Patrons were treated to a variety of dishes and they eagerly sampled. From Lamb Seekh Kebab, Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rougan Josh, with Gulab and Jamoom for dessert.

Piku and Winky were the chefs extraordinare of the night!

The event was a wonderful succes and Lime says, "We will be doing it again" Look forward to another Indian night either the middle or the ending of April.

As we celebrate our nineteenth birthday we want to thank our founders Bruce and Victoria Collins, our community, our advertisers and our friends for making us the successful newspaper we are today. With age comes maturity and wisdom and we would not be here today without all of your generous support. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to a very long and healthy life! Breaking News: Barge stuck on the reef

A barge (est. 30 feet x 23 feet) is currently stuck on the reef eight miles north of San Pedro Town (exact coordinates 18.01 degrees, 33.8 mins North, 87.50 degrees, 26.4 mins West) lodged on the reef near Blue Reef Resort. Port Authority, Coast Guard and the Department of the Environment were on the scene this morning investigating the incident.The barge, bearing no markings, is welded in three places and authorities hope that once broken down, some sort of identification mark will be able to be found. Investigators believe that the barge was a part of a bigger vessel that broke down and drifted in the open waters outside of Ambergris Caye.
With the wave action, the barge turned upside down and lodged itself where it remains. This they believe happened sometime during the course of the night since residents traversing that area, state that the vessel was not there yesterday.It is now the Port Commissioner's decision as to what to do with the vessel. Port Authority believes that with the assistance of the Department of Environment, the barge can be broken down and removed before more damage to the environment can be done.

Raising funds for Baby Daniel

Live on the Reef Radio are grandparents Mel Spain and Daniel Guerrero along with Patty Arceo working the airwaves in an effort to raise money for her grandson, Daniel Jr.

Baby Daniel is 4 months old and has been diagnosed with Biliary atresia, a rare life threatening liver disease. Baby Daniel needs medical assistance immediately in the USA to get the treatment he needs.

A fundraising event for Baby Daniel will take place on March 21st at the San Pedro Lions Den. More information will be released this afternoon.

Miss Chiquitita 2010 - coming soon!

After a ten year hiatus, the Miss Chiquitita Pageant is back to San Pedro Town. The general public is cordially invited to witness the selection of the new mini-queen who will reign for the year 2010-11. The six beauties vying for the title and the crown are:

Marcella Bonilla, 4-years-old

Leilanie Alamilla, 6-years-old

The event will be held at the Old Football Field commencing at 7:00 p.m. on March 20th, 2010. During the night, entertainment will be provided by the San Pedro Dance Company and Barbara's Dance Group. Tickets are available at SP Preschool and Island Magic ($10 - adults, $5 - children).
