Weekend Sporting Activities

The San Pedro RC School kicked off the weekend on Friday with their football marathon. All classes formed teams in various categories to compete against each other. The marathon lasted through Saturday night.




On Sunday San Mateo Residents gathered at the bridge foot to support the various teams that competed in an all day sporting event at the Paradise Theater grounds.

Congratulations San Mateo Bombers - 6-a-side Tournament Champions!!

The 6-a-side football team San Mateo Bombers took home the top honors this past Sunday when they became the tournament champions. Having bested out the SP Police team (2nd Place), as well as other teams like the Fire Blazers, Tropic Air, SP Strikers, Mario's Boys and Mata Chica Bombers, San Mateo took the lead and 1st place trophy.
Councilor Joseph Elijio was on hand to aid Miss San Pedro Natasha Stuart, as well as Deputy Mayor Pablo Ico in handing out the trophies to the winners. Congratulations once more, and job well done!!!
As always, big up to the referees who were on hand for all the games!

San Mateo Community Holds their Ground Breaking Ceremony

Yesterday, the commencement of the "Dream Come True" for the residents of the San Mateo Sub-Division, finally got underway. Talks of a road for the Sub-Division have been in discussion for years now, and yesterday the Ground Breaking Ceremony held at 4:00p.m. marked the beginning of a new era for residents of that Sub-Division.
Residents of the Sub Division are highly enthusiastic and together, with the students of the University of Mississippi, Hon. Manuel Heredia Jr., and the San Pedro Town Council plan on constructing a one and a half mile road, marking the first phase.
