Notice: Change in power outage schedule

Scheduled Outages for San Pedro:
* Thursday, April 22nd - from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Areas to be affected: All that area including Angel Coral Street, Coconut Drive, Sea Grape Drive, San Marcos Area, DFC Area, Escalante Subdivision, Holiday Lands and Boca Ciega Area.
* From 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Areas to be affected: All of Barrier Reef Drive, Angel Coral Drive, San Marcos Area, DFC Area and a portion of Sea Grape Drive.
* Friday, April 23rd - from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Areas to be affected: All that area from Laguna Drive to Boca del Rio including North San Pedro and Pescador Drive.

BEL apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these outages and assures customers that the Company continues to work diligently at minimizing interruptions. These outages are necessary for the company to carry out maintenance works on the distribution system in the area.

Costa Rican Minister of Culture visits San Pedro

Manuel Obregon, Minister of Culture of Costa Rica paid a visit to San Pedro Town on Saturday as part of his unofficial meeting with Honorable Manuel Heredia Jr., Minister of Culture in Belize. While on the island he enjoyed a delicious meal at Pineapples Restaurant at Ramon's Village. He was joined by Dianne Haylock, President of the National Institute of Culture and History and Ivan Duran.Obregon, an accomplished piano player, performed his simbiosis concert with images of the rainforest at the Bliss Center on Saturday night. On Sunday, he took part of the tribute concert for Belize's King of Brukdown, Mr. Wilfred Peters.

Emerson Duran claims Kite Competition prize

During the Easter break, Moose held his annual Kite Competition. Creativity abounded as many kites were designed, built and flown for the judges. Winning the competition was Emerson Duran who, on Friday, received his big prize - a $200 bank account at Belize Bank.Congratulations to Duran and kudos to Moose for keeping such a fun activity going.
