Lobsterfest kicks off! El Divino hosts Meat and Greet!

El Divino was the official spot for the kickoff of San Pedro's Lobsterfest 2009. The Brazilian-style rotisserie and other "meats" were available for ordering Sunday night- as Lobster season didn't officially open till Monday June 15. The San Pedro Dance Company gave great performances, as did the Fat Cats. All in all, the first night was a rousing success! Here's to an amazing San Pedro Lobsterfest 2009!!

Wine and Art at Red Ginger

The littlest art enthusiasts.
Belizean Melody's art was on display at Red Ginger's courtyard this past Sunday afternoon. Art appreciators and friends turned out to view her many colorful displays while they enjoyed sipping on some delicious wines provided by Red Ginger.
At the end of the evening, a raffle was held - with part of the proceeds going towards Life for Lydia. Dick Gentry was the lucky winner of the beautiful painting of purple orchids. Melody also held an impromptu raffle for one of her prints, and the lucky winner was Alanna Sullivan.

32nd Annual Lions Convention in SP

The San Pedro Lions Club was proud to host the 32nd Convention in grand style this past weekend with the participation of Lions Clubs from Belize City, Belmopan, San Estevan and Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. San Pedro's Lions Den was the venue for the event and a grand parade through the streets of San Pedro brought much delight to spectators.
The new Lions Zone 59 queen is the lovely Miss Alexis Guerrero, San Pedro's Lions Queen.

Clean up campaign underway

A clean up campaign organized by Youth With A Mission in collaboration with the San Pedro Town Council is underway this morning. A group of volunteers met at Central Park and got directions of where the cleanup would be taking place. Organizers stated that cleanup would take place between Captain Morgan's Retreat (North) and Mr. Joe's (South). The Department of the Environment waas on hand to offer any and all assistance

FOTHS Curry Cookoff

Friends of the Humane Society (FOTHS) have done it again! Tonight, it is CURRY!!! Held at Lime, there are over 10 delicious curry entries for everyone to try. For only $10 you can taste all the spicy goodness that local chefs have prepared. Those tasting will have the distinct honor of chosing the curry king or queen for the night. Money raised will go toward Saga's Humane Society.
