Despite Boat Problems SPHS Volleyball Teams Bring Home Their Wins

While traveling back from the mainland late on Saturday afternoon, after victorious wins, the San Pedro High School volleyball boys and girls teams, along with parents and teachers, found themselves stranded at sea when the boat they were being transported on ran out of gas. The boat, loaded with more than 50 people, was adrift just miles from the San Pedro coast. With dark skies, gusting winds and cool temperatures the crowd grew concerned about what the night held in store for them. Fortunately a boat was dispatched from Caye Caulker Water Taxi to rescue the castaways and the Coast Guard was alerted to assist with the dysfunctional vessel. The group was happy to finally reach La Isla and boast their well earned winnings. Congratulations to the SPHS volleyball teams for placing well in the competitions!
