San Pedro Under 20 Football Team ties with Hattieville United

The San Pedro Under 20 Football Team (SPU20FT) went up against Hattieville United on Sunday June 12, 2011. This marked the second game in the 2011 Belize District Football Association (BDFA) under 20 regional games.
The game ended in a draw with both teams scoring one goal each. The first goal was scored by San Pedro’s Delmar Casey Jr. of the SPU20FT followed by Keaton Dyer scoring for Hattieville United less than twenty minutes afterwards. With supporters from both teams cheering their team, the game was a tight and very entertaining one.
The next game is scheduled for Saturday June 18th when the boys will be travelling to Hattieville for a second match against Admiral Complex.

SPRCS dominates Zone Competition in the Zone B Primary School competition

Four teams from two schools on Ambergris Caye travelled to Caye Caulker on Tuesday June 7th. The teams travelled to compete against schools from Caye Caulker, for the Zone B elimination of the Primary Schools Football Tournament.

While this leg of the competition is usually held in San Pedro, this year the four teams travelled to our sister island. With only two teams in the female division, SPRCS girls went up against NHAS girls. At the end of that game, the SPRCS girls were successful with a score of one to zero.

SPRCS’ boys first game was against the team from Caye Caulker which was a very tight game, ending in a penalty shot with San Pedro leading by one with a score of eight to seven. Game two for the SP boys saw them victorious over New Horizon boys’ team with a score of one to zero.

Both New Horizon’s Adventist School (NHAS) and San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) sent two teams; one male and one female team.

At the end of the elimination rounds for Zone B – the area encompassing San Pedro and Caye Caulker, it appears both teams representing the Zone are from SPRCS. The teams now prepare to travel to Belize City to the MCC grounds, where they go up against winners from the other zones in the Belize District for the District eliminations. This is scheduled for Wednesday June 15th.

San Pedro Under 20 Football Team ties with Complex Admiral

In the beginning of the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) 2011under 20 regional games commenced on Sunday May 29th at the Ambergris Stadium. The first game of the season saW the San Pedro Under 20 Football Team (SPU20FT) going up against Complex Admiral of Belize City.
The afternoon football games started at 1:00pm with a preliminary game in which the SPFC’s under16 team going up against the San Pedro R.C. School team. This game ended with the SPU16 team victorious over the SPRCS team in a score of four to zero.

Commencing around 2:30pm the game between the SPU20FT and Complex Admiral was a tight one. At about 2:55pm the game was intensified when “Pinchy” from the home team managed to score the first goal of the game.


With supporters screaming and cheering their team on, shortly after, with the crowd’s support, San Pedro managed to launch a second goal around 3:05pm.









Shortly after, with the boys from the City intensifying their game, playing more aggressive, they managed to get their first goal in at around 3:23pm, just before half time.

San Pedro Under 20 Football Club in Valley of Peace

Sports have been a stronghold in the lives of residents of San Pedro. Residents actively participate in everything from beach volleyball, softball, sailing, kayaking and of course football. Fuljencio Hoare is no stranger to the sport of football in San Pedro. Recently acquiring the guidance of Coach Omar Moreno, Fuljencio “Fully” Hoare has created the San Pedro U20 Football Club (SPU20FC).

The SPU20FC hopes to provide an alternative to the many young, talented, athletic youth on the island. The venue will afford the youth the opportunity to create life long skills such as sportsmanship, group work, how to become a team player, responsibility and self control while providing them the basis for a healthy lifestyle. As proven in the past, the club also provides the perfect platform for athletes to showcase their talents and compete to become a member of the Belize National Selection, which travels internationally to represent Belize.

Weekend Sporting Activities

The San Pedro RC School kicked off the weekend on Friday with their football marathon. All classes formed teams in various categories to compete against each other. The marathon lasted through Saturday night.




On Sunday San Mateo Residents gathered at the bridge foot to support the various teams that competed in an all day sporting event at the Paradise Theater grounds.
