Fourth of July SAGA Humane Society Fund Raiser at Pedro's Inn

Saturday found the Brits (of all people) throwing a Fourth of July Independence Day party at Pedro’s Inn to raise funds for the SAGA Humane Society. The afternoon was full of family fun for everyone with jammin’ music by the Small World band, swimming, socializing, games, beverages and BBQ. One of the day’s activities included a hotdog eating contest for kids AND adults, a silent auction was held with many local business donating fabulous items and a “Kick-a-Brit” poker tournament was held later in the day, all to benefit the worthy cause of caring for the animals of San Pedro.

Life for Lydia - Cancer Walk this Sunday!

Train Station Fitness Club is organizing a 10 mile cancer walk on Sunday, July 5, 2009. The walk will start at Central Park at 5 am with a short blessing. The walk will be north to Mata Chica Resort and back. Water will be provided at specific resorts and breakfast will be available for sale upon the return to Central Park. Individuals can register for a minimum of $50. Upon registration, walkers will receive a Life 4 Lydia T-shirt. Businesses are urged to pledge their support. All proceeds will go towards Mrs. Lydia Guerrero's Medical Services, supplies and treatment.

BEL apologizes for the inconvenience caused but this outage is necessary for the company to upgrade and perform maintenance on the distribution system in the area.

Nathalia Tamayo - Miss Panama for Costa Maya 2009

She is no other than Nathalia Lucia Tamayo Dominici, 21-year-old Panamanian model. Working exclusively with Physical Modeling Agency, Nathalie has graced the pages of Elite Model Look Panama 2004 y Chico & Chica Modelo 2005. The five foot seven inch tall blonde has represented her country at the International Miss Mundo Empresarial 2008, held in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

The green eyed beauty enjoys being in touch with nature and loves to skate, jog, cycle or head to the beach. An avid reader, Nathalia will certainly feel at home on La Isla Bonita.

Lexee Marin wins Miss Lobster Fest Pageant

Last Friday evening, Caye Caulker saw five local girls contesting for the title of Miss Lobster Fest 2009/2010. Aged between 15 and 18, the poised young ladies danced and entertained the packed audience, made up of locals and tourists, as three esteemed judges marked them in various categories.MC Indira Craig kept the evening running smoothly despite being interrupted by rain on two occasions. Chairs were wiped down, the stage was swept and the show went on. At the end of the evening Miss Lexee Marin was crowned Miss Lobster Fest 2009, with first runner up Miss Blenda Aguilar, and 2nd runner up Miss Vanessa Flowers.
